LAX Academy Announces $1.2 Million Financial Aid Program for Jamaican Athletes Seeking Opportunities Abroad

Kingston, Jamaica — In a significant boost for local athletes with dreams of international football careers, LAX Academy has announced the launch of a J$1.2 million financial aid initiative aimed at supporting Jamaicans who aspire to try out, train, and compete abroad.

The scholarship program, officially approved by Saqlain Wildman, Executive Chairman of LAX Group of Companies, is intended to help cover expenses associated with LAX FC trials, training camps, and development programs in the USA and Canada.

“This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing Jamaican talent and providing real pathways to professional opportunities overseas,” said Wildman. “Far too often, talented athletes are limited by finances. We’re here to help change that.”

The funds can be applied toward travel costs, accommodation, training fees, and other associated expenses for athletes selected to participate in LAX-affiliated events or programs. Whether it's showcasing their talent in a competitive trial or honing their skills in a structured camp environment, eligible recipients will gain exposure and professional development at an international level.

LAX Academy, known for its dedication to youth and sports development, has steadily built a reputation for connecting emerging talent from Jamaica with clubs and training systems abroad. The new financial aid initiative represents the academy's most direct investment yet in expanding access to these opportunities.

This initiative not only reflects a bold step toward inclusivity in sport but reinforces the belief that potential should never be limited by circumstance.
